Types of Disc of Globe Valve

There are several types of discs used in globe valves, each with its own design and characteristics. Some common types of discs used in globe valves include:

Parabolic-type Disc: This disc has a parabolic shape, which allows for a more linear flow characteristic. It provides a good balance between flow control and sealing performance and is commonly used in applications that require precise flow regulation.

Plug-type Disc: It is the most normal disc type of globe valve. This disc has a cylindrical shape with a tapered or rounded end. It provides a large flow area and is suitable for applications that require high flow capacity.

Ball-type Disc: This disc is spherical in shape and provides a 360-degree sealing surface. It offers excellent sealing performance and is commonly used in high-pressure applications.

Needle-type Disc: This disc has a sharp, needle-like point that allows for very fine control of flow, making it ideal for applications requiring precise flow regulation.

The choice of disc type depends on the specific application requirements, including pressure, temperature, fluid characteristics, and flow control needs. It is important to select the appropriate disc type to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the globe valve.
