Selection of Valve Surface Coatings

Generally, FLOWORK uses Jotun brand. We can also paint valves according to customer’s requirements.

The followings are some critical factors that should be considered in selection of valve surface coatings.

Corrosion Resistance: The internal components of the coating react with the metal to passivate the metal surface or generate protective substances to improve the protective effect of the coating. The coating must protect the valve from corrosion caused by environmental factors or the medium it is in contact with.
Chemical Compatibility: The coating should be compatible with the chemicals it will be exposed to, ensuring it does not degrade or react adversely.
Temperature Tolerance: The coating must withstand the operating temperatures of the valve without losing its protective properties.
Abrasion Resistance: For valves in abrasive environments, the coating should resist wear and tear to maintain integrity over time.
Adhesion: The coating must adhere well to the valve material to prevent peeling or flaking.
Regulatory Compliance: The coating must meet relevant industry standards and regulations for safety and environmental impact.
