Disc Types of Gate Valves

Wedged Single Disc Gate Valve

• The structure is simpler than flexible disc gate valve.
• Its sealing performance is not as good as flexible or double type at higher temperature.
• This type of disc is suitable for high-temperature medium that is easy to coke.

Flexible Disc Gate Valve

Flexible disc, a special form of wedged single disc, has the following advantages when compared with wedged single one.

• It obtains high sealing performance at high temperature and the disc is not easy to be stuck after being heated.
• It applies to steam, high temperature oil, oil and gas, and other medium as well as the parts with frequent switching.

Double Disc Gate Valve

• The sealing performance is better than wedged single disc. When the oblique angle of the sealing surface is not fit well with seat, sealing performance can still be possessed.
• It has more spare parts than other gate valve types.
• In addition to steam and oil, it is also applicable to the parts with frequent switching and to medium which can cause much more abrasion on sealing surface. But it is not suitable for the medium that is easy to coke.

Parallel Disc Gate Valve

• The sealing performance is worse than other type discs.
• It applies to medium of low temperature and pressure.
• The processing and maintenance of sealing surface of disc and seat is simpler than other types.
